Catholic Relief Servies (CRS), - en consorcio con Save the Children-Reino Unido, CARE Internacional, la Conferencia Episcopal Ecuatoriana y la Fundación Wong – implementan el Proyecto Apoyo a Nuestra Juventud (SOY!) para combatir el trabajo infantil y garantizar el futuro de los/as niños/as a través de educación para evitar el trabajo infantil en las industrias de bananos y flores del Ecuador. El proyecto SOY usa las siguientes estrategias y ofrece opciones viables tanto para los niños trabajadores como para los niños en riesgo de dejar el sector educativo por trabajar: 1) mejoramiento del acceso y la calidad de la educación a través de la innovación, 2) focalización en el cambio social y del comportamiento, 3) construcción de enlaces nacional-regional-local y, 4) fortalecimiento de la coordinación intersectorial. El proyecto implementa estrategias que contribuyan al logro de objetivos nacionales para los Derechos de los Niños y mejoramiento de la educación, así como complementar estrategias existentes, y unir fuerzas donde sea posible, con otras organizaciones y programas con objetivos similares.
